IEEE MetroGREENST 2026 will be held at the University of Siena in San Niccolò building.
The San Niccolò building is the ex-Psychiatric Hospital of Siena. It was not only a hospital, but a little village dedicated to hosting psychiatric patients, including food production and other facilities for their life and support.
The building has been reconverted to host a few departments of the University of Siena in 2006: the Department of Information Engineering and Mathematical Science, the Department of ancient and modern Literatures, the Department of Communication and Political Sciences.
The place is right in the city center, only 10 minutes walking distance from the main square of Siena, the Piazza del Campo, and 13 minutes from the Duomo, the Cathedral of the city.
